Full-service Christmas light installation, starting at $500
The main types of Christmas lights are traditional incandescent bulbs, energy-efficient LEDs and battery-operated lights, and each comes in several bulb styles. This guide explains how each type works, its pros and cons, and where it looks best in your holiday display.
To measure for Christmas lights, measure your rooflines, eaves, railings, windows and doors, and the height and width of your trees and bushes. Add up the totals to know how many feet of lights to buy, then check each strand’s wattage so you don’t overload a circuit.
